Rex cinema is back after 26 years of silence. It was skating rink, a church and most recently a nightclub. Now it has come back its beginning as movie theatre. This Rex Cinema, which is situated in 2, Mackenzie Road was opened by Saw brothers in 1946 with an English movie, " The Jungle Book" and was closed in 1986 with its last movie "Jaw 3D". Since then, there was no cinema theatre in Little India for a long time. We cant deny that the cinema lovers those days can still remember their enjoyable moment watching the multi-language at the old Rex.

Now, that the enjoyable moments has come to live. Rex cinema is reconstructed into a new look with 3 Cineplex with many advanced equipments fitted cater current needs of the audience. Once of the Cineplex which is the largest among the three has 70mm mega screen with DTS &SRD Second System that can fit 525 audience and has 2; Gold Class Box which can fit 6 people in each where popcorns and drinks will be served free. Another 2 Cineplex upstairs that fits 88 audiences each, has 35mm Screen with DTR & SRD sound system. It also has Gold Class Box in each Cineplex that can fit 5 people. There is also an art gallery that exhibits old filming equipments for public viewing. A rest area and food stalls have been set up for the conveniences of the audience.

Another added advantages of our new Rex cinema is, it has surrounded by many facilities such as taxi stand, bus stop, MRT station, ample parking lots and varieties of delicious food stall nearby. Multi-lingual movies such as English, Malay, Chinese, Tamil, Hindustan, Indonesia, Telugu, Malayalam and Bangladesh will be screened to fulfill the need of Multi-racial cinema lovers.

Gods Blessing and audiences support is the only strength for our new Rex cinema to live longer and succeed till the end. Let us all pray.
